I am a fully qualified primary teacher with nearly 17 years experience. I thoroughly enjoy working with children and helping them to progress and achieve their full potential. I first informally assess the child and then tailor sessions to suit the child’s need, focusing upon the appropriate skills. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my little boys and watching them grow and develop.

Tutoring Experience

I have been teaching for nearly 17 years at schools across Birmingham. I have taught each age range and currently lead English. Throughout my career, I have been part of school management teams and have supported other teachers in their own professional development. My most recent experience is booster groups for Year 2 and 6 - where we have concentrated on skills and requirements for SATs.

Tutoring Approach

I am fun and engaging. I use a variety of resources and techniques to help children understand and learn. It is important for children to feel at ease and enjoy what they learning, therefore I use a visual and hands on approach to enable children to progress. In the first session, I will complete informal assessments to enable me to tailor seasons for your child’s needs. We will set targets and work towards these using a variety of appropriate tasks.
