I'm a warm and friendly primary school teacher, working as a regular supply teacher across various schools. I have worked within the teaching profession for over 14 years. With a genuine passion for English and Maths, I have felt extremely lucky to have had the opportunity to work with children, assisting them on their educational journey and navigating their route to success. With this in mind, I have an outstanding track record for improving pupils' grades: all of my pupils have reached their targets and some exceeded.
I find teaching extremely rewarding and I aim to to create an engaging and dynamic environment for each and every student to thrive .
I am a people person; pupils get on well with me and I am both relaxed and patient with them, allowing individuals to flourish and making learning feel less if a 'chore'. I have a talent for building confidence, explaining things clearly (in a number of different ways) and providing the vital skills for revision where the aim is to thoroughly prepare and focus in the lead up to exams.
As well as teaching, I have also worked as a Youth Development Lead for The Princes' Trust, supporting and mentoring young people into employment. My hobbies include walking, running and spending time with family.
I have been a primary school teacher for 15 years and have have tutored for 6 months so far, specialising in Key Stage 2. My experience includes:
2 years of supply teaching throughout the primary age range
14 years of prumary teaching.During this time, I have raught in key stage 1 and 2, but specialised in upper key stage 2, preparing them for their SAT'S.
My teaching approach aims to be from a constructive and positive view. Regardless of ability, the focus must be on making progress and celebrating that progress. By instilling a positive attitude in a student, they will be more motivated to learn and to work independently.
I always start by asking students what their goal is, and I tailor sessions to work towards it; the content will depend on the wants and needs of the pupil. I am able to work alongside schoolwork and homework, but equally happy to devise original lessons.
I am always prepared, positive and patient, and work hard to help my students reach their full potential.
