I am an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual who isn't afraid of a challenge! As a teacher and mother of two, I am passionate about education and giving every child the best possible chance to succeed.
For the past twelve years, I have been employed as a primary school teacher in Coventry, mainly based in Years 3-6. Through this role, I have developed a good knowledge of the National Curriculum and the requirements of the KS2 assessments (SATs). Outside of my main employment, I have tutored several Year 6 children to prepare them for their SATs tests. I have also helped a child to prepare for a private school's entrance exam, which resulted in him successfully gaining a place.
As a parent myself, I understand the concerns when a child begins to fall behind at school, and the effect that this can have on his/her confidence. I firmly believe that with the right input, all children can achieve. I aim to build children's confidence by first securing the basics so that they are equipped to deal with more complex work. Where possible, I tailor my lessons to match the interests of pupils to increase motivation levels and, hopefully, instil a love of learning which they can carry through to their secondary education.
