About Me
As a serving teacher with several years of experience as Head of Maths at a leading independent school in the West Midlands and extensive work as an A-level Examiner, I bring a deep understanding of the current maths curriculum at both A-level and GCSE. My teaching background spans both the state and independent sectors, where I have been part of OFSTED “Outstanding” and ISI “Excellent” inspections—the highest possible ratings from both bodies.

- MA Educational Innovation (Distinction), University of Warwick – Specialising in Mathematics
- PGCE Mathematics, University of Warwick
- MSc Information Technology, Aston University
- BSc (Hons) Physics, University of Sheffield

Tutoring Experience

Tutoring Experience
I have delivered over 10,000 hours of tuition and supported students from KS2 through to A-level Further Maths, both in the UK and internationally via Zoom. My style is professional yet warm and approachable, and I have a proven track record of raising attainment and transforming confidence in mathematics.

Examination and Curriculum Expertise
I specialise in the Edexcel A-level syllabus, particularly in Maths and Further Maths, and I serve as an A-level Examiner. I accept all boards for GCSE and A-level Maths, but please note that for A-level Further Maths I only accept students studying Edexcel due to the variation across specifications.

Results and University Success
My students regularly achieve Grade 9 at GCSE and A/A* at A-level. Many have secured places at top universities, including:

  • Oxford, Cambridge, LSE, UCL, Imperial, Durham, Warwick, Manchester, Bath

  • Leading Ivy League Universities including Columbia, Carnegie Mellon and UCLA.

  • Degrees in medicine, law, theoretical physics, engineering, finance, and mathematics

  • Others have gone on to secure Big 4 apprenticeships, tech industry placements, and armed forces officer training programmes

Schools I’ve Worked With
I have tutored students from many of the UK’s most prestigious schools, including:
Westminster School, Brighton College, Concord College, Dulwich College, Fettes College, Epsom College, Stowe School, Shrewsbury School, Whitgift, The King's School Canterbury, Wycombe Abbey, City of London Freemen’s School, and many more.

Additional Services
I also run a highly successful small group programme for Years 11, 12 and 13:

  • Year 12 and 13: Two interactive lessons weekly (Monday & Thursday)

  • Year 11: One live lesson per week (Wednesday)

  • Access to an online portal with recorded lessons, topic tests, interactive quizzes, and past paper walkthroughs

  • £80 per lesson, with the option to add 1:1 sessions for further support

This option offers structure, flexibility, and excellent value, and has become increasingly popular with ambitious students aiming for top grades.

Specialist Exam Preparation
I have also supported students with:

  • 16+ entrance exams (Westminster, King's College Wimbledon, Latymer, etc.)

  • Eton College entrance preparation

  • TMUA preparation for university admissions

Tutoring Approach

I very much enjoy seeing students grow in their competence as mathematicians and come to have a real enjoyment of the subject. I seek to identify common misconceptions and ensure that students have a solid foundation on which to build. It is quite common for my students to experience a transformation in how they feel about their own abilities in maths and they frequently go on to be amongst the highest achievers in their respective cohorts.

Current Availability
Having just seen my most recent cohort through their exams with another strong set of A/A* results, I now have a limited number of spaces available for the academic year 25/26.
