I am passionate about language learning! I feel that learning a foreign language is an invaluable skill and therefore I am dedicated to helping others to succeed in this. I studied French and German at Trinity College Dublin before completing my PGCE at the University of Cambridge.
Before moving home to Northern Ireland, I taught French and German for five years in a comprehensive school outside Cambridge. Since moving back I taught for two years in a Northern Irish secondary school before going on maternity leave. I have taught French and German to GCSE level, as well as French and German NVQ business language levels 1 and 2. I also have experience of teaching German to A-level. I have experience of tutoring for GCSE and A- level exams, as well as just for fun!
I believe that I am a friendly, caring and patient teacher. It is essential to know what an individual learner's needs are and so in the first session I will aim to discover what your needs and goals are so that I can tailor and personalise my lessons. I feel that it is important that you, as a learner, feel motivated and confident in your learning and so I will strive to make my lessons fun, engaging and enjoyable as well as helping you towards your goals.
