I have worked for many years in education including the UK and Kenya. My roles have included Form Teacher, Literacy Coordinator for Years 2, 3 and 4 as well as Year 3 Coordinator for 3 parallel classes. I have also taught children who speak English as a secondary, rather than their primary language. I have been a tutor for 6 years since retiring from full-time teaching in a school.
I enjoy travel, cooking, music, theatre, education and art. I have a sense of humour and I am particularly interested in developing children's Literacy skills with their creative writing and their poetry, as well as focusing on correct spelling, grammar, punctuation and handwriting.

I am an enthusiastic, creative and dedicated teacher and I enjoy building up trust and loyalty with children so that they can be filled with confidence when learning. I enjoy adapting my teaching skills to suit their individual learning styles and I am particularly interested in all aspects of Literacy including spelling, punctuation and grammar along with creative writing and rôle play.I make my maths teaching fun and I am able to help those who are having difficulty with any subject within the National curriculum as well as those who may need challenging.
