I am passionate about teaching and helping individuals to enjoy their learning and achieve their very best. I am patient, encouraging and accommodating. My primary aim is to instil confidence in the subject and for you to feel that you are making progress in your understanding.
I am a fully qualified teacher and have thoroughly enjoyed teaching modern foreign languages to secondary age students of all abilities for 27 years. I have taught KS3, GCSE and A level students throughout my career, many of whom have exceeded their target grades.
I have 6 years of experience tutoring individuals, both for the eleven plus entrance exams (100% pass rate) and in German and French.
Alongside my tutoring, I have been working for the last 4 years in the primary sector, teaching modern languages, literacy and numeracy to key stage 2 students in 2 different primary schools.
Central to my tutoring approach is to firstly gain a detailed insight in to what you would like to gain from your sessions and your current level. I then use this to begin planning sessions tailored specifically to your needs and desires.
In eleven plus sessions, I will show you how to best approach the different verbal and non-verbal question types, helping you to develop your confidence, accuracy and speed using a wide range of resources and practice papers.
Languages sessions can focus on a specific skill, such as speaking or writing, they can help you understand grammar rules and apply them accurately, or they can be a combination of elements.
