An economics graduate, I have also completed a masters course at the University of Cambridge. I have worked as a professional economist and run my own research consultancy business. I am now pretty much a full-time professional tutor, working with students across the AQA, Edexcel and OCR 'A' level economics courses.
I have been tutoring now across five academic years, supporting students from over 25 local schools and colleges. My early tutoring experience focused on in-person (face-to-face) tutorial sessions, but more recently has successfully transferred to online (Skype and Zoom) platforms.
Having initially guided my own children to A* and A grades in Economics at ‘A’ level, I provide a friendly, structured and results-oriented approach: covering microeconomic and macroeconomic concepts, as well as examination technique, data analysis, data response questions and essay writing.
My approach is tailored to the needs of each student, and the feedback I have received from parents suggests I have been particularly successful in building students' confidence, and increasing their enjoyment and engagement with the subject. I provide comprehensive and very accessible support materials to students for each part of their course, and set practice questions for them to develop their analysis, evaluation and writing skills.
I am also able to provide guidance to help students write effective personal statements for university applications.
