I, like many others, have read tutorial books and listened to teaching disks but never really had the discipline to take my playing very far. I felt the best way to perhaps get better would be to start the guitar grades which is what lead me to Doug. The first thing Doug did was just watch me play, from this he made an assessment of my ability and has go on to give me a structured learning plan including core exercises to develop and improve technique as well as helping me master the songs I've been trying to play. Doug has also introduced me to some great music I may never have heard or found myself playing. Doug is very good at getting the best out of you and makes you feel that you are really making progress within quite a short time. He has a great approach to teaching, and I feel that his teaching methods have brought me a long way in only a handful of lessons. For anybody looking to learn guitar for fun or grades I recommend him wholeheartedly.
