Zoe

My name is Zoe, and I completed my GCSEs and A levels at St Paul’s Girls School, before reading Biomedical Sciences at The University of Oxford. I recently graduated in June 2022, and have since undertaken a 3 month research assistant position at the Max Planck institute of Medical Sciences in Germany working in Klaus Navé’s lab on neurodegeneration and alzheimer’s. Previously, I have tutored biology to a range of students at A level and GCSE, and look forward to continuing this now that I have completed my degree. I have achieved 11 A* grades at GCSE, and 3 A* grades in Biology, Chemistry and Maths at A-level and therefore am familiar with the material of the syllabuses and exam formats of the A-level course. I understand how important it is to consistently keep up with all that is taught on a weekly basis during lessons and know that extra help in the form of practice exercises, repeat explanations or clarification of confusing topics can be extremely helpful in maintaining high performance throughout the year. Any questions or inquiries, feel free to get in touch with me

Tutoring Experience

I have volunteered at a primary school for a year, and have been on the committee of clubs at school where I was required to come up with activities and explain concepts to younger students. I have over five years of experience tutoring at A level and GCSE.

Tutoring Approach

In terms of teaching, I focus on solidifying concepts that are unclear to ensure thorough understanding of course materials as well as providing help with exam technique and practice questions. Both are extremely important in order to achieve exam success. I hope to inspire the student to enjoy the process of delving deeper into the syllabus and expanding their knowledge, allowing them to become independent thinkers and able to structure their own learning.
