I have relevant tuition experience from volunteering at various local tuition centres at a young age whilst studying at school. Whilst undertaking my studies I used this voluntary experience and my own study skills to help other students through private tutoring. Having successfully achieved a Distinction in my Undergraduate degree, I secured a Graduate Teaching Assistant role with my University, teaching on a Statistics based Sociology module in 2019.
Having achieved another Distinction in my postgraduate law course, I have been working full-time as a Paralegal since 2020 whilst continuing with tutoring. I have also over the last 2 years done some Assistant Examiner and Assistant Moderator work for Cambridge Assessment International Education exam board which has helped me to bring further insight into exam technique, marking and grading for the benefit of my students. With a strong academic record and having always enjoyed studying, I have a life-long passion for learning and improvement, and thoroughly enjoy continuing to help students improve academically. I aim to help students from a student’s perspective, thereby providing a unique and relatable approach and teaching your child the exam technique and study skills that teachers in school don’t cover.
I have experience tutoring a wide variety of ages and children ranging from Year 1 to GCSE across English, Maths and Science. I now specifically provide tutoring for English for the following:
- Teaching foundation knowledge and consolidating school topics covered for KS3 in order to prepare for GCSE level study
- GCSE teaching, exam technique and study skills for Year 9-11.
I provide group lessons tailored to the individual students’ needs on what skills, topics and specific feedback they require to improve. My approach is very focused on building your child's confidence in their academic abilities, and whilst teaching content and exam technique, also equipping your child with study skills that will assist them long into the future. Each lesson I aim to provide an engaging experience, build knowledge and skills, and provide tailored feedback to each student, as well as providing any notes from the lesson and homework to help my students’ learning and development.
