Yasmin

I'm currently the Head of Geography at the Coopers Company and Coborn School, where I teach the OCR GCSE and A Level. I have previously taught the AQA GCSE and A Level, and have tuition experience with Edexcel and I GCSE. I have taught Economics + Philosophy internationally and have been teaching Geography for 12 years.

My past GCSE classes were in the top 10% of the country for their results. I have an excellent success record with private tutees, with all tutees making good levels of progress and the majority achieving grade 7-9. I have a passion for Geography and for teaching. I have various experience teaching abroad and with vulnerable groups, in these positions I have been able to teach over a language barrier. I enjoy working with young people, particularly building their confidence and attainment. I have previous mentored students, volunteered with 'Aim Higher' to support students to go to university. I have also volunteered alongside students with visual impairment in higher education, to support their research and studies. This has helped me develop excellent communication skills.

Tutoring Experience

Geography Teacher, Head of Year, Head of Department, Head of Humanities. I teach all ages (11-18years). I teach the AQA A Level and AQA GCSE but have also tutored Edexcel, OCR and IGCSE. I specialise in Human Geography at A Level. I have lots of tutoring experience, have led revision classes, create exam papers, have access to past papers. I have a history of excellent Geography examination results and know the specifications very well.

Tutoring Approach

I have an interactive teaching style, whilst targeting the specific areas of concern. I am able to monitor and assess progress frequently. I teach with exam questions so that students are prepared for unseen questions. I can adjust my teaching style to the audience accordingly. I also have a large bank of exam questions readily available. I am able to create my own resources to support student learning and assessment.
