I have been learning Mandarin as a casual learner (15 yo) on a weekly basis with Yanan for coming up to 4 months now. I must start by saying, Yanan is AMAZING! She makes the lessons really enjoyable and after the lesson gives feedback and provides a review of the previous lesson, and links to help when I am practicing pronunciations during my spare time. During the lesson, she explains things very well and makes it very easy to ask questions. She is patient and polite, and adapts/suits the lessons to you. I look forward to her lessons each week. She is ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!

She explains things thoroughly and is very generous with her time sharing videos to watch after the lesson and recordings (both a long and shortened version of each lesson). She makes sure that I understand things properly and fits so much in a lesson without the pace being too fast or too much to take in. She is very clear in her approach and very professional in how she sets things up. I like the way she corrects my pronunciation and works with me to get the pronunciation perfect (she's precise). Thank you Yanan.

Yanan is an excellent maths tutor I have ever had for my two children since I began engaging the services of First Tutors a few years ago. She is extremely thorough in her knowledge of the subject and is able to actively engage and sustain my children's interest in it. My daughter particularly hated maths all these years, but to Yanan's credit, she began developing keen interest in the subject. She was chosen among a group of four in her class to do Level 6 in the SAT exam this year. Maths has now become my daughter's best subject. My children are now confident in handling maths at their various levels. They keep asking me when is Yanan coming back to teach them again, and I have assured them it would be in September next month when school re-opens. They are excited about her coming back. I am absolutely fortified in my conviction Yanan is the best maths tutor that my children have had. I will therefore not hesitate to recommend Yanan to anyone who wants to give their children a solid foundation in maths.

Yanan has been a totally fantastic tutor for my daughter who was struggling with A Levels in Chemistry and Biology. She has helped my daughter to organise herself and has helped her to have a much better understanding of the subjects and what is required to do well, but most of all she has given her confidence. Yanan is a very thorough teacher. She plans carefully and makes sure I have grasped things before moving on. She is tough, in a good way, very detailed and very easy to work with. She is also kindly and I rate her highly.

Yanan has been very thorough in her teaching of our 3 sons, aged 9, 15 and 17. She also assisted us a great deal in finding the way to apply for GCSE exams for my sons, whose school doesn't offer Mandarin tuition or exam. Although she has only come to us 3 times, we are very happy with her and the boys enjoy her lessons.
