A UK qualified secondary Mathematics and Statistics teacher with ACCA qualification, have been teaching in England Secondary Schools and Mid-East for many years. Also, I have been training some Chinese Traditional and Secret Martial Arts for a couple of decades. While I am task-oriented, I am enjoying my life such as going through Jasmine Tea etiquette. Personally, I would like to keep my life balanced and move forward as a life-cycle learner.
With PGCE and QTS (Teacher No: 1675774), I have been teaching in England Secondary Schools and Mid-East International School for many years. 45 out of 67 students in Year 8 passed GCSE real exam paper within 6 months of my teaching. Two Year 7 groups of mine have achieved the highest scores 91% and 93% respectively, while the highest one is 65% in the other Year7 groups. 3 out of 34 Year 10 students moved up 3 grades within 3 months of my teaching, and 9 of them have been achieving potential Grade 9 candidates based on their performances and momentum. A-Level students really appreciate my excellency of teaching. My students of Statistics out-performed the other peer group hugely in Both UK and Mid-East.
I have three systematical methods to guarantee my learners to be successful in a short period of time, while I am always linking Maths topics to the real-life experiences that my learners are familiar to.
1st Building Block method: the foundation must be very firm to support the top layers; likewise, without learning-by-heart of times table, algebra will be impossible to overcome, which is the key of all Maths learning.
2nd Bamboo Growth method: while a bamboo grows up, it will always have a knot horizontally to consolidate the stem and make it strong; similarly, as we finish a unit of learning, we need to unit test to help us consolidate what we learn in order to do a SWOT analysis.
3rd SWOT analysis: to identify the areas a learner feels Strong, Weak, how to master the Threat to make it an Opportunity. Then we allocate our resources wisely and maximise our performances.
