Hi there, I'm a 5th year medical student at University College London. I really enjoy sciences and languages and I work hard to convey my passion and interest in these subjects to my students. At college I did the IB Diploma and achieved 40 points with 776 HL in Biology, German and Chemistry respectively (this equates to two A*s and 3 As in UCAS Tariff points). I am very friendly and tutoring my little sister through her GCSEs has really helped develop my patience! Having done the IB I can offer specific advice for things like university applications and coursework as well as general advice on the medicine application process (including admissions tests, personal statements etc). Finally I enjoy music as well and have played the violin for 9 years and the piano for 6 (achieving grade 8 and 5 in both respectively).
I got involved with some Biology and German tutoring whilst at secondary school and since coming to university, I've amassed over 200 hours worth of online tutoring experience across a range of subjects including GCSE Maths, IB Biology and Medical school interview preparation.
More recently, I've featured on the website of two tutoring agencies consistently being ranked among the top ten tutors of the month (as voted by students) for the full duration of my time there.
Naturally, I love all things Medicine and Biosciences related and I've given countless tutorials to both Medicine and Biomedical science students over the years.
I tend to teach using a variety of different tools e.g. diagrams, mnemonics etc to help ensure concepts stick. I also try to go over typical questions in the course of the session to ensure that my students not only understand the concepts, but also get full credit for them as well.
In terms of content, I like to let the students dictate the direction of the lessons and I do my best to adapt each tutorial depending on how much you already know or don't know.
Finally (and probably most importantly) I try to make my sessions as enjoyable as I can in order to help my students enjoy their subjects (in my experience, this inevitably leads to higher grades!)
