A native Mandarin speaker who has lived in the UK for 15 years.
Gained a teaching Certificate at University in China and taught Mandarin as a second language for foreigners (MSFL) in Beijing.
I am Bi-lingual and teaching is my life-long ambition.
My first experience was in China where I taught a group of foreigners who came from different language backgrounds to learn Mandarin from beginner to intermediate level.
After I came to the UK, I worked as a part-time Teacher Assistant in the Math Department of a Primary School in London while gaining my accountant qualification.
My approach is to tailor the lessons to students' needs which means that the approach is different for each of the learners. There are so many ways of learning a language, but I would customize a way that best fit individual learner rather than simply the standard way.
My lesson is very interactive which would eventually help people to build up the confidence to use Mandarin to communicate. With an emphasis on understanding the culture as well the way, the express self could achieve conversation prediction and hence boost up the confidence as well as treat the learning as a fun experience.
For examination, good results will to the short-term target, which I would adopt a method to maximize the practice as well as examination techniques. But to master, a language is far more enjoyable as a lifelong achievement.
I hope students will use Mandarin in their real life, not just the lessons. There is plenty way of practice with such great resources over the net or chatting. I hope that I could be of great assistance to your progress to master Mandarin as a life-long skill.
