My son really enjoyed his tutoring with Viv, it gave him confidence and knowledge of the GCSE requirements, which even helped in other subjects.
Viv was friendly, pleasant and processional.

Viv has been an excellent source of support for my daughter, quickly building a rapport and helping to build her confidence. She has been caring, supportive and flexible and has made an enormous impact on her progress in a short amount of time.

Has been an excellent tutor for my Grandson, and we are very grateful for all the work she has put in over the last 3 months to help him with his studies in readiness for his GCSE exams.

My son has enjoyed his time with Vivienne and has found it extremely helpful in the run up to his GCSE. Vivienne has found a way to explain things so my son can understand and then put into practice. My son has always struggled with English however has taken his English GCSE with confidence. I would highly recommend Vivienne.

My son is in year 10 and not an enthusiastic English student generally but he knows he needs to work hard in run up to his GCSE later this year. He felt that the better than expected results in his mock exam were really due to the advice and teaching from Vivienne. She was really good at working out his mindset and just finding a way to get him to focus - not easy with teenage boys at all! Vivienne gave great feedback to us, related brilliantly to my son and is a fantastic, professional and inutuitive tutor.

Viv has been tutoring our son on the lead up to exams. Due to lengthy periods of sickness our son had large gaps in his knowledge of his English Literature, and consequently affecting his confidence and enjoyment of the subject. Viv has worked wonders over the last few months. Engagement was always going to be key and She has done so wonderfully with Max and has such a lovely and caring teaching manner. She has managed the impossible and it has been a joy to hear Max quote Macbeth over dinner ! Not once has Max ever tried to get out of attending his session…a miracle in itself !
My only regret is not finding Viv sooner !

Viv has been tutored Alex for GCSE English. He has found her sessions to be both challenging and enormously helpful in improving his understanding and skills. This has supported his learning for English, and given him a better understanding of critical thinking, interpretation and analysis, which is helping with other subjects. We rate Viv extremely highly and recommend her.

My daughter has attended and continues to attend English lessons with Vivienne once a week for the past year. She struggles with English at school and could not independently complete her homework for her GCSE course. Her school grade has significantly improved and she is now predicted to pass her exams next year. She actually enjoys going to Vivienne and she has given her the skills to independently complete her work! Vivienne is patient, supportive and current with the curriculum for language and literature. Highly recommend.

Vivienne is a very good and experienced teacher for my year 10 daughter who is preparing for the GCSE. She is always willing to tailor made the lesson content to accommodate her exams and curriculums. Vivienne is highly recommended and appropriated.

Viv helped my daughter in the 6 months before her GCSEs when she was concerned about passing and getting a grade 4. Viv was a excellent tutor and helped Ella go into the exams with a lot more confidence and she ended up with a 5 in both English GCSEs. Can’t thank Viv enough and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to others.

Vivienne is an excellent teacher, she was able in a short period of time to help my son to develop and achieve high marks in his exams… She has an excellent way of dealing with children to make them respond and achieve what they want.

I could not recommend Viv enough, she has really helped my son improve and increase his confidence. Viv has been a wonderful tutor and has boosted my grandson’s confidence and ability. She has gone out of her way to accommodate him in terms of tutorial times . She is gentle and encouraging in her approach but guides my grandson to understand and answer the questions in the right way. Would highly recommend Viv .

An excellent tutor!!

Vivienne saw our twin boys relatively few times (and also intermittently due to Covid lockdowns). During those sessions she took them to a standard where they both passed GCSE assessments in English Language and Literature at Grade 5, having been given predicted grades of 3 by their school.

Both boys appreciated the clear way Vivienne explained concepts and subject matter that hadn't been thoroughly dealt with in their school lessons and made it all easier to understand. A truly kind and knowledgable lady with a natural ability to interact with, and get the best out of the GCSE age group. We genuinely could not recommend Vivienne enough.

As a parent, I couldn’t recommend Vivienne highly enough. When When Vivienne met my son, Joshua, she found him in a place of anxiety and worry. After a pandemic lockdown, lost class lessons and a severe lack of confidence, my son started at grade 2 with Vivienne.

A student without a natural flair of English and personal communication difficulties due to anxieties, Vivienne excelled in her approach and lifted Joshua’s fear to a place where he felt relaxed and competent. Within 5 months, Viv worked on many issues with Josh in a kind, gentle and supportive manner. With a lot of effort and strong encouragement from Viv, Josh is sitting with an expected grade 5.

This may not seem high to many, but what Viv managed in a short time with such emotional and motivational issues, was nothing short of tremendous and we, as a family, will forever be thankful for giving Joshua his confidence back and the belief that if we had of sought help and tuition sooner, his achievements could have been on a higher level again.

As a parent Viv kept me involved, communicated clearly and didn’t gloss over realities. It was a pleasure to work with her in supporting Joshua and she is fundamentally responsible for the smile he had on his face after both his English Language and Literature exams.

Viv's help with GCSE English has been invaluable! In just weeks she managed to help my son progress from a predicted fail to a level 6 in his mocks. Unfortunately due to the cancellation of GCSE's because of the pandemic, we will never know what could have been achieved by the time he sat his exams but having seen the week on week progress he has made, I am certain it would have been even higher.

Viv has a very calm, thoughtful and encouraging teaching style and despite not wanting a tutor originally, after the first lesson my son said he felt he had really learnt a lot and was very keen to return… which is praise indeed from a 15 year old!

I cannot recommend Vivienne enough - she's truly an excellent teacher!

As any parent of a dyslexic child knows, the school system can be a soul-destroying experience for both parent and child. Although not a dyslexia specialist Viv was happy to adapt her teaching methods as needed and her patient and calm approach were exactly what my Yr11 son needed in order for him to make huge improvements and gain confidence in his abilities. During his time with her she helped him improve by nearly 3 levels. I would highly recommend Viv as an English Language tutor, she is very experienced, knows the curriculum requirements well and is able to get her knowledge across in a completely accessible way to her students.

Viv is calm, well-prepared, engaging, a good listener and full of encouragement. She is an excellent and accomplished GCSE English tutor.

My daughter was working at a Level 3 in English in the run up to her GCSE's. We found Viv to be kind, patient and very supportive with my daughter and over the weeks she began to gain more confidence. Having just received her GCSE's she received a Grade 5!

I can't thank Viv enough her work and dedication to getting my son through his English GCSE. We went to her after some awful mid years tests which really upset my son. I will be sending this to the administrators.
My son was struggling with his English Language GCSE. In September 2017 Viv Kindly agreed to Tutor Harry for an hour every week until his exams this year in June 2018. I found Viv to be empathetic, knowledgeable and completely trustworthy. She was always willing to be flexible with lesson timings and worked him hard often dishing out homework.
Today we received the fabulous news that he achieved a grade 5 pass and in his own words he could not have done it without Viv. She knows the syllabus and exam criteria so was able to focus Harry preparing him for the exam.

Vivienne is just great. Very knowledgeable, really knows her stuff, explains very well, within a few weeks achieved what teachers at school couldn't achieve in a year. She has a really nice manner of teaching and communicating with pupils and parents and always does her best to accommodate my son's busy timetable. Would highly recommend her!

Viv is fabulous and so far after the 3 lessons, there is a noticeable improvement. Viv has a calm approach, knows a lot about the GCSE's and what is required by the board so can give clear guidance based on what you need to know. We are so glad we found you!

Vivienne is an awesome tutor

She has a very serene n approachable personality which made it really easy for me to confide in her , my fears about "English " as a foreign language .

In first class itself she understood that my problem was not knowing the language but lack of confidence in speaking it .

She tried to boost my confidence in all the three classes I took
She herself suggested in the third lesson that I should join some book club so as to gain confidence rather than to come to her as that would help me more .
She guided me correctly not thinking of money she could have easily made by having more lessons with me . That's what I found really commendable , that for Vivienne it's not just about money
It's more about guiding the tutee in the right direction.
I would highly recommend her as a tutor as she is professional and at the same time very very understanding , patient and righteous in her approach .
