Tutoring Experience

I have been teaching for 19 years, with a proven track record in improving attainment for my students, especially SEND students or those lacking in confidence. I currently teach KS2-4 in an all through school.

Tutoring Approach

For younger students (KS2–KS3), my tutoring is centred around making science fun and engaging. I focus on building curiosity and confidence while developing key scientific skills through interactive and accessible lessons. With significant experience in designing KS2 and KS3 science curricula, I ensure sessions are both enjoyable and educationally robust.

For older students (KS4), my approach shifts to developing a deeper understanding of scientific concepts by helping students build an effective and connected knowledge schema. Lessons include a strong focus on exam technique, enabling students to apply their understanding confidently and accurately in assessments.

However all sessions are tailored to the individual so this approach is fluid and based on regular checks for understanding and formative assessments.
