I am a mother and mathematics teacher. As a mother and a teacher, I have been working with pupils and students for several years now. I have experience in all the exams boards including OCR, EDECEL, AQA, etc. I have been teaching secondary school Mathematics (Key stages 3, 4 and 5 Mathematics) for the past 10 years in three different schools here in England. I have excellent subject knowledge in the GCSE and A-Level curriculum. I enjoy teaching Mathematics and one of my biggest strength is my ability to explain the subject to my pupils and students well and how they can apply the knowledge, skill and understanding to solve problems in great detail to enable them do well in examinations. I use visuals, practice questions and interactive exercises to make lessons interesting and engaging. As a tutor, I use my first lesson with my students to initially assess them in order to identify any gaps in their knowledge. I then prepare and use series of lessons to help the student bridge the gap in their learning. I use different teaching technique to help pupils and student of all abilities to reach their potentials. I believe that hard work and a very good understanding of a subject is a key to success. I have a track record of excellent results. I always make sure that pupils and students are taught the basic concepts and skills they need in the subject before preparing them for GCSE or A-Level.
I have 10 years experience in the teaching of mathematics in Key Stages 3 ,4 and 5 in main stream, small teaching groups and one to one settings. I teach A-Level Mathematics. I can also teach primary school level Mathematics and Science.
As all pupils and students are different and have different learning style, the ability of the pupil or student will determine my approach towards helping them to succeed. I am able to use worksheets, exam style questions, feedback and understanding why pupils and students find a certain task challenging, use schemes of work/learning ladders and exam board specifications to tailor the teaching and learning and setting of homework that will help extend the learning.
