I am a qualified doctor with an MSc in Bioinformatics. I am able to offer tuition in Biology and Chemitry up to A-level, and Physics and Combined Science up to GCSE level. I also offer tuition in Medicine at degree standard. I am able to give tuition either in my own home or at the tutee's home, and can travel up to about 10 miiles.

Tutoring Experience

I have four years of experience giving one-to-one tuition at standards ranging from Key Stage 3 to Degree level, with excellent results. This has included giving tuition to tutees with special needs. I have helped students gain the required grades to obtain University places in a wide range of Science subjects, including Medicine. This has included help in interview technique. I have also taught medical students and junior doctors during my professional life in hospital.

Tutoring Approach

I offer friendly, relaxed lessons individually, or in groups of up to three people, tailored exactly to what the tutee requires. I have been told that my approach to teaching makes it enjoyable for my students. I aim to determine the exact nature and areas of tutees' difficulties and address these directly, thereby enhancing understanding. I encourage students to think for themselves using questioning techniques, rather than just giving them answers. I have been told that this approach make difficult areas seem simple. I also offer pratice using past examination questions to improve their exam technique. In addition, I use my professional medical experience to add context to lessons, which increases motivation and interest.
