As a prospective economics student at the University of Warwick, I have a strong academic background and almost 2 years of teaching experience. I aim to make learning enjoyable and effective ensuring each student gains confidence and excels in their studies. Through my own experiences, I have developed effective study techniques and strategies that I am eager to share allowing me to achieve a 9 in GCSE further maths and predicted an A* in a level maths and A in further maths.
As the head assistant at Kumon for over a year, I enhanced students’ understanding and performance contributing to their academic success. Furthermore, being a private 1-1 tutor, I had tailored lessons to meet each student’s unique needs as well as having an understanding and patient approach to teaching, addressing students’ frustrations and challenges.
My tutoring philosophy centres around the belief that every student learns differently. As a prospective economics student, I understand the challenges and pressures that come with rigorous academic demands.
In our sessions, I focus on identifying the individuals’ strengths and areas for improvement of each student. Whether it’s focusing on content, improving study habits of preparing for exams, I craft my teaching approach to align with the students’ learning style. My aim is to provide comprehensive explanations, practical examples and continuous feedback to ensure that students not only understand the material but can also apply it effectively.
