Hi, I am a mother of three young children and an enthusiastic English college lecturer, with an absolute passion for all things English Language. I have been tutoring for 3 years and love those ‘lightbulb moments’ when as a tutor, you experience a student really grasping a concept that they previously struggled with. I believe private tuition has an amazing impact, particularly on a learner’s confidence, enabling them to achieve what they never thought possible.

Tutoring Experience

I have been an English lecturer for four years, I predominantly teach A-level English Language and English combined but also have experience teaching GCSE, Access and pre-access to adult learners. I have been tutoring for 5 years, this has been mainly GCSE for both first time sitters and resit students however I have also tutored pre-GCSE learners and three A level learners. I have experience in tutoring those with autism, dyslexia/dyspraxia and Irlen’s syndrome.

Tutoring Approach

I like to think that I am incredibly creative and encourage my learners to engage with English on topics that they enjoy. It is not unusual with my younger learners that we venture out and about in order to cover key terminology and ideas. I make it my job to really get to know my students and because of this, see effective results.
