I am a medical student and a tutor teaching maths, biology, chemistry and physics from primary through to GCSE level and Primary school level English. I have always had a fond interest in science and maths, which I have engaged with over the course of my previous degree in Biomedical Science in which I graduated with First Class Honours.
Throughout my journey, I have gained a lot of insight into these subjects and have developed a multitude of skills and techniques to effectively study which has helped me to achieve throughout the years. Having said this, it has always been a pleasure to impart these skills onto other students I have helped in the past to maximise their success in their exams.
Having been an Anatomy demonstrator in my previous degree, I am comfortable in adapting my teaching style to suit the student's needs during my lessons, whether this be through teaching specific concepts or going through exam style questions to consolidate their understanding.
Following my own school journey having achieved A*s in GCSE maths, biology, chemistry and physics, I am very familiar with many GCSE curriculums and exam boards, including AQA and Edexcel, and have helped to teach friends and students.
I have also been a mentor to prospective university and medical students in the last few years, where an understanding and individual-specific approach has been paramount. As a result, I also offer advice to older years on medical school entry and tips on writing a science-based dissertation.
Over my years of experience, I have learnt the importance of having an understanding and patient teaching aid who not only allows me to learn at a comfortable pace but also helps me enjoy what I learn. My lessons are prepared based on the student's chosen topics beforehand and are tailored to the individual's specific needs.
I have been tutoring online for the last 2 years. My students have varied from KS3 through to GCSE and I have tutored biology, chemistry, physics and maths.
I have been an anatomy demonstrator in my previous degree of Biomedical Science, where I had the opportunity to teach different anatomy topics and create MCQ style questions for pre-clinical medical students.
I have also been a mentor to prospective university and medical students in the last few years, where I have provided advice on how to optimise the application and given the opportunity to practice mock interviews. As a result of my previous degree and experiences, I also offer advice for medical school entry and help with writing a science-based dissertation.
I like to prepare my lessons based on what works best for each student. These are based on the student's chosen topics beforehand and are tailored to the individual's specific needs. This can be either focusing on learning concepts, going through exam-style questions, or a mixture of both in order to consolidate their understanding.
