I am a highly motivated and dedicated primary school teacher with 25 years of experience in British state, Private and International schools. Having worked across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and 2 throughout my career, I enjoy them all! I currently work as a part-time teacher in a local primary school and as a Swimming Teacher. I live with my partner and I’m mum to a curious, loving and energetic nine year old son.
My teaching and tutoring experience is vast and varied; spanning 20+ years and several countries! I have experience of teaching classes of 4-11 year olds, intervention groups in preparation for KS1/2 SATs and one-to-one support for SEND pupils in both in London and Suffolk schools. Whilst working abroad I helped adult learners to converse, read and write in English and children to boost their English language skills, handwriting and maths. Since my return to the UK, I have continued to support dozens of children in achieving their academic goals whether that be passing their 11+ entrance exams for Ipswich and Woodbridge Preparatory Schools, preparing for Year 2 & 6 SATs or gaining more confidence in specific curriculum areas. I deliver bespoke one-to-one guidance with a compassionate, patient and friendly approach; helping to boost children’s self-esteem, develop confidence in their abilities whilst providing a safe space in which to ask questions and make mistakes.
Initial Assessment Meeting:
I assess where your child is at in their learning, spend time getting to know them and how they learn best. Then I provide feedback to you; mapping out how I will help your child to progress and achieve their goal. 1 hour = £40
Booking:
If you’re happy to move forward with tutoring sessions, you book and pay for either a month, half term or term in advance.
Tutoring Sessions:
When we meet for tutoring sessions, I will have planned for the areas to be focused on and will provide a mixture of fun, engaging activities to help develop confidence, support learning in school or prepare for the 11+ entrance exam. I will offer kind, thoughtful and encouraging feedback; sometimes finishing with a little task to take away for practice.
