I am a private tutor specialising in Maths and Physics at A-level, and Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology at GCSE. During term time, I also tutor at a secondary school and sixth form college in West Sussex.
I was just a child when Man first set foot on the moon, but that historic moment kindled my love for all things scientific. After studying Maths and Physics at Cambridge, I was able to indulge my passion by enrolling on a PhD in Radio Astronomy at the Jodrell Bank radio telescope (the iconic backdrop for BBC’s ‘Stargazing Live’). I have since worked in Industry, where I often acted as a mentor to junior engineers, some of whom have since gone on to work for companies such as Apple and Microsoft.
I became a private tutor in 2017 and now have more than 5,000 hours' experience. I have been tutoring at The Weald School in Billingshurst, West Sussex since 2018
My teaching philosophy is simple: to encourage my students to understand the underlying principles rather than just trying to memorise facts. I try to make my lessons fun, and want everyone to look forward to the lessons and enjoy them in the same way I do.
