Tom

My name is Tom. I have been teaching English, maths, science and psychology for over 8 years. I am currently living in Mexico and my primary job is a freelance tutor aiding adult learners with functional skills Maths and English. I love teaching and more than anything, like seeing peoples self-esteem grow as they overcome previously difficult concepts. As a free lance tutor I am happy to work at anytime in any time zone and have ensured a stable internet connection allowing me to teach anyone, anywhere!!!

Tutoring Experience

I started teaching A-level Biology at Hull college whilst gaining my teaching qualification and before hand had gained some experience as a teaching assistant at Wilberforce College for A level science where one of my responsibilities was to run small group and one to one study sessions.

I am now the Head of mathematics at Removed and am in the process of finishing my own scheme of work which incorporates gamification and frequent trackabillity into the curriculum

The School is designed for children with social, emotional and behavioral issues and I teach students of all ages and abilities whilst continuing to be a personal tutor and run a GCSE psychology class.

I am confident and currently teaching KS3, Entry level, GCSE and Functional skills maths and have again designed large amounts of my own worksheets and resources to pinpoint where extra attention needs to be concentrated.

Tutoring Approach

I have a range of teaching approaches and am aware that every student learns in their own way. I have constructed a vast set of teaching resources and differentiated assessments using an online classroom. These all mark themselves giving the learner immediate feedback to save to and hassle. I am always constantly updating this system based on learners feedback and have found that the majority have found the freedom of access to the resources incredibly beneficial.
