Tim is tutoring my daughter in A-Level Physics. We are only two sessions in so too early to fully comment but so far I would say "excellent". My daughter thinks Tim is a great Physics tutor (she is very quick to criticise so this is praise indeed) and has been significantly motivated at the end of the two sessions she has had so far.From Elinor
Tim is methodical and uncritical. His patience and understanding of the subject helps the student understand and take in what is said and also be unafraid to ask questions.He has undoubtedly helped our son gain in confidence and understanding.

Tim came to help my 17 year old daughter with AS Level Maths. She emailed him in advance of the lesson telling him that she needed help with Trigonometry but unfortunately was not able to help her and made her very confused. We were very surprised that a Tutor did not know the answer to a past paper question. We will not be using him again.This was an unfortunate occasion when the initial route I took with explaining an examination question concerning the many possible angles for a given value of a sine function was not successful. I spent a lot of time attempting to retrace the method and explaining the mechanics of the problem but in retrospect I feel that the student had already lost confidence. I think it would be fairer to say that I was unable to adequately explain to the student, in simple enough terms, how to arrive at the answer.
It is also true to say that I did spend a large proportion of the session going through trigonometric identities and simplification. The student appeared to understand very well. I do wish her all the best for the future.

Tim has been tutoring my sons in Maths and this is proving to be very useful. He is always punctual and flexible with timings which helps to fit in with their College schedules. He is very knowledgeable and his teaching techniques work for us.
