With over a decade of teaching experience, including the leadership of Geography departments in two high achieving secondary schools in Hertfordshire, I have a detailed knowledge of the GCSE and A Level curriculum and a proven track record of working with students to build on their strengths, identify and address gaps in their learning and support them with their exam technique to boost confidence, attainment and a passion for the subject.
Over the past nine years, I have managed successful Geography departments at two Hertfordshire schools and developed a wealth of teaching experience and expert subject knowledge. I currently occupy a Head of Sixth form pastoral position in addition to my classroom teaching. Prior to entering the teaching profession, I worked in industry, both in a project management capacity, at a leading urban regeneration company in East London and within the financial service industry. I have a passion for travel and often draw upon my own personal experiences to help students access my subject and bring learning to life.
My approach is very much bespoke. Exam board specifications and past paper questions are used to identify specific needs and areas for development. Students are then supported with their learning through a range of signposted reading materials, electronic resources, exam technique strategies and one-to-one tuition to boost confidence, performance and attainment.
