It has been another very successful year for all of my tutees. I am very proud of their achievements but in additio
n so many have much greater confidence. This is key .Confidence and hard work have paid off. Here are some examples: one tutee had no support from school as the school no longer ran Higher Economics, he studied on his own with my guidance - the result - an A. He is now going to study the subject at University. In addition, a further 4 A grade at Higher in other subjects. A truly remarkable achievement. Another tutee - 5 A passes and three school prizes in Modern Studies, German and English. All students have achieved and I am looking forward to next session.

I am a keen educator with good communication skills and a professional approach. By using different approaches to learning and teaching I assist my students to achieve their full potential regardless of level and prior knowledge.

Achievement is paramount but the enjoyment of learning is also nurtured.

I was educated in Scotland as well as abroad. I have also worked abroad. At present I am employed as a Mathematics teacher in a Secondary School.

Tutoring Experience

I have 20 years experience in lecturing at all levels to all age groups covering the broad spectrum of Computing and ICT up to and including HND Level. I am also a qualified secondary school teacher with full GTC registration (Scotland) for Mathematics. I have taught from S1 to S6. I am trained in Psychology,Political Theory,Philosophy and Sociology. I have expertise in Economics and have tutored in this subject up to Advanced level. Many of my tutees have achieved to a high level. Recently, one of my tutees achieved a remarkable score of 100% in the Higher Modern Studies examination. Additionally, one of my tutees was awarded the Computing prize by the school for the second year in a row, other have been awarded both Physics and Mathematics prizes. I am also available for tuition for the UKCATT test for entry to medicine. Three of my tutees have successfully completed this examination achieving their highest scores in the mathematical sections. I am currently working with Glasgow University as a tutor. I have two large tutoring contracts as well as individual tutees in a variety of subject.

Tutoring Approach

My tutoring style involves the use of a range of activities including use IT packages where applicable. The learning environment would be supportive and encouraging. Use of regular feedback and opportunity to promote learning is provided. Evaluation of progress is provided on a regular basis. I am highly skilled in examination techniques and can assist the learner to achieve the highest grade possible. My background in Psychology equips me to promote Active Learning and the use of memory improvement techniques to aid the tutee to remember the required information for the examination.
