Really helped my son with GCSE English literature and English language
My son responded really well to Tessa’s style of teaching

I was very happy with my daughter's first session with Tessa. Tessa was fantastic with her. Unfortunately after agreeing further tutoring, I was contacted by Tessa to advice me that she can no longer tutor her due to her own personal circumstances. For this reason, I have had to give her this feedback.

We contacted Tessa to provide coaching for our son's GCSE English Language paper at relatively short notice over 5 sessions. Our selection was based on her previous reviews and we were not disappointed. From first contact she was helpful, proactive, efficient and organised. She struck up a good rapport with our son, provided a clear and well planned structure to the online sessions and included us on any feedback and follow-up tasks. We would not hesitate to use Tessa again and felt our son was able to make progress. Thank you Tessa!

Tessa was immediately warm with my girls. She is extremely knowledgeable and had fantastic new learning strategies for my girls. Both my children are feeling more confident in English.

Tessa is an amazing Tutor. My son was doing the Eton Scholarship exam and 6 months before the exam his English went downhill dramatically as he tried to use too complicated words and structure - Tessa was fantastic turning it around despite his pushback! She is extremely knowledgeable, goes back to basics, nothing is too much trouble and she is always fully prepared. She is also a really lovely person. My son got an A in his English Scolarship paper and General paper and I would say this was totally down to Tessa’s determination and skills.

Tessa also tutored my daughter who was doing GCSEs. English was always her weaker subject and she tried to avoid it. Tessa was again amazing - giving her the confidence and techniques to face her GCSEs. She got an A* in English Language and A in English Literature- something we never thought possible and again this was largely down to Tessa’s encouragement and tutoring.

Tessa was an amazing tutor for my daughter who has always struggled with English as she is very dyslexia. Studying for her GCSE English Language was a tough slog until she started working with Tessa. I wish that I had engaged her earlier as she made such a different to my daughters’ ability to understand and comprehend English Language, which was then had a huge knock on affect with other subjects. This had always been a very difficult subject for her and she had dreaded doing this GCSE, however, she is now even thinking of doing English Language A level.

Tessa has really helped my daughter gain such confidence in writing, organisation and essay skills that she has managed to progress to a much higher level than expected.

The sessions were enjoyable but comprehensive and thorough. She was always on time and very reliable. I would highly recommend Tessa and we were very sad to stop seeing her.

My 14 year old son had three very successful sessions with Tessa. Her contact before the sessions was great, to get a good understanding of what was needed and how she could target the sessions to best effect. For each session Tessa was extremely well prepared with work, techniques and examples. She made the sessions fun and and my son enjoyed them very much. He took away tangible, practical tools which have had a great impact on his ability and, importantly, his confidence in the subject. I would not hesitate to recommend Tessa or to use her again myself.

Tess has been teaching Harry for 2 years now and today was his last lesson before his English exam tomorrow, I can not say enough wonderful things about Tess, she is a fantastic teacher and has given Harry so much confidence in his own ability and has helped him in so many ways, from keeping the lessons interesting to giving so many tips in the early days for homework to now tips for the last hurdle of the the exams. She just knows how to engage with him and has built up a good understanding with him, she has helped me with emails to his school and has a wealth of knowledge of the system and how to get the best possible support for Harry at school and for the exams. I Would recommend Tess to anyone, she is a fantastic teacher and will be the best choice you have made for your son/daughter. Thank-you again Tess its been a pleasure to meet you and for you to teach Harry the last two years, will miss our Monday quick catch up after the lesson.

Tessa is quite simply amazing! She has helped two of my children with their GCSE English Language and English Literature. With Tessa’s fantastic tuition my children achieved their full potential and top grades! Tessa is extremely professional, makes everything easy to understand, boosts confidence and explains very clearly what needs to be done to achieve the best marks. She comes fully prepared with lots of handouts and packs of information. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Tessa - my children loved her lessons and we are all so delighted that we found Tessa. Any student receiving tuition from Tessa is very fortunate indeed.

Teresa was excellent. Energetic, well prepared and engaging, she encouraged, cajoled and stretched our daughter. We had Teresa for two hours a day over a week, for A level exam preparation and she was great. We certainly felt that she's helped our daughter raise her game. Thank you, Teresa!

Tessa has been an excellent Tutor to my son who doing his GCSE exams this year. She has built up good rapport with him and is giving him more confidence in English and a toolbox of ways to approach exam questions. Since engaging Tessa as a tutor, my son has gained a better understanding of the subject and has improved his results. Tessa is a warm, engaging tutor. My son enjoys his sessions with her and can feel how they are benefitting him.

Tessa has been absolutely amazing working with our son over the last 3 years leading up to his GCSEs. Providing great support to our son as he transitioned school and putting in place techniques for essay planning and comprehension that not only benefited him in his exams but will serve him in good stead for the future. Most of all, over the time Tessa has worked with our son she has helped him gain the confidence in his comprehension and writing skills so that he is able to plan and clearly express his ideas. No teenage boy is easy but Tessa has been fabulous in her encouragement and support.

Dear Tessa. Emma and I both want to thank you so much for your help and support over the last year. She chose English language A level as she thought it would be useful for her future, but always found the subject challenging. You have made a huge difference to both her enjoyment of the subject and her confidence and success in it. We can't quite believe that she has achieved a high B at A level and even got an A grade in her latest written paper. We also really appreciate your flexibility.
