Hi there! My name's Tayyab and I'm currently a Faculty Leader for Computer Science & Business at high school & sixth form, having achieved excellent results for all the classes in my charge for the last twenty years!

Students generally go on to secure places at leading universities throughout the UK.

I have adored Maths and Computing for all my life, and I love that a seemingly long, confusing question, can be broken down very simply and in a satisfying way. These Computational Thinking approaches can be applied to all walks of life!

In my twenty years of teaching, I often find at school that teachers managing a class of 30 students can often overlook that every student has a different learning style that may not coincide with what is being taught, and will be disadvantaged in lessons as a result. I aim to fix this in my sessions. I have tutored many different people in my life, as well as meeting so many students at school and at university, and have found that every student is unique.

The idea is to find a personal learning approach for each individual student, where all the pieces start to fit together. This is why I love tutoring and teaching! The satisfaction when the student makes sense of it all fills me with joy that can't be described. I have done this for twenty years and the feeling never changes!

This way, tutoring becomes less of a one-sided teaching job and more of a friendship that improves as it goes along.

Notable experiences I've had were two previous students of mine, one A-level and one retaking GCSE in which the A-level student achieved 4 A*s, and the GCSE student passed his computer science exam after their resit. The A-Level student secured a place at Oxford University studying robotics.

Tutoring Experience

I possess a wealth of experience. Something that can't be bought or replicated. I am currently a Faculty Leader of Computer Science & Business and have been in this role for 20 years! I have successfully taught thousands of students and helped them achieve top grades to secure places at leading universities or employment.

I regularly partake in the latest cutting edge CPD and constantly hone my teaching strategies to ensure no child is ever left behind! As a consequence, I possess all the tools and relative skills set to plot a path to success for all needs and abilities.

Tutoring Approach

The starting point in any academic journey is to conduct a baseline to gauge current levels and identify areas that need developing. My sessions always include regular retrieval practice and interleaving to ensure all knowledge is embedded and secure to maximise chances of success in assessments.

I will always provide students with additional resources to work through in between sessions to help develop independence. All questions used will be linked to the exam board in question. All my learning resources are provided to the student as well as revision resources focusing on knowledge and technical topics.

Learning is and should be such an enjoyable process. My sessions will always aim to captivate my students and ensure they are enjoying the learning journey. A happy student is a successful student!
