I have over 8 years of tutoring experience, ranging from KS2 to university level.
I am currently an ECT Maths Teacher at a secondary school. I have previously tutored at a primary and secondary school level for a number of years. I have also tutored as well as mentored many university students whilst studying my degree during my time at Queen Mary University of London. This was part of a tutoring program set up by the university which I was the head of. This position involved choosing and appointing all the other mentors as well as managing, scheduling, promoting and organising all mentoring/tutoring sessions. I was awared mentor of the year for all my commitment and hard work in teaching other students within my faculty as well as for attending extra sessions, helping students outside of sessions, and working well within the team.
With A-Level and GCSE, the vast majority of my students end up achieving an A*-B grade (or grade 9-6). I have experience in both online tutoring and in-person tutoring which I have been doing for a number of years. I have taught at in small groups as well as 1-1, I have taught at tuition centres as well as 1-1 private tution also.
I adapt the way I teach to meet the students need and tailor the sessions specifically to the areas of study that they need help with most. I regularly use exercise books as well as worksheets. After a certain amount of content has been covered the students will be given tests to track their progress. Parents/guardians will be kept up to date with their students progress. Any additional request from parents or guardians can be discussed further as I am happy to oblige.
