Navigating the vibrant landscapes of inner-city London, I've carved a path that weaves together a passion for science and a commitment to fostering learning. In my early years, I earned a clutch of 12 GCSEs, which formed the bedrock of my educational journey. This was followed by A-Levels in Physical Education, Information Technology, and Psychology, which marked my transition into a more focused exploration of the sciences.
Having experienced the pulse of urban life and engaged deeply with the world of education, I found my stride in the realm of science. The practical applications of Physical Education, along with my broader academic pursuits, kindled a fascination with the intricate workings of science. This fascination led me to pursue a degree in Sport and Exercise Science at University.
Building upon my academic foundation, I embarked on a journey in education, honing my skills through teacher training at the esteemed University of Nottingham. Now, as a dedicated Science Teacher, my mission is to illuminate the pathways of learning for eager minds. My approach transcends textbooks; I strive to ignite curiosity, critical thinking, and a deep appreciation for the wonders of science.
Beyond the classroom, my dedication extends to tutoring. Since September 2018, I've had the privilege of guiding an array of students in diverse contexts. From mentoring aspiring student-athletes to providing tailored support for learners with unique educational needs, I've woven a tapestry of experiences that enrich my understanding of effective teaching methodologies.
My journey is marked by a commitment to nurturing both academic excellence and an enduring passion for the sciences. As a tutor, I bring this commitment to every session, crafting an environment where learning becomes an exhilarating journey of discovery.
I have been tutoring alongside my academic studies and job since September 2017. I gained my Qualified Teacher Status in July 2021 and have accrued 2 years of experience preparing and teaching lessons and 1200 hours of tuition during this time. I have tutored many students in the following subjects:
GCSE & A-Level: Sport and Physical Education
- In PE/ Sport, I have helped many students improve their knowledge and exceed their target grades. As a Teacher of PE, an athlete and a fitness enthusiast, I can provide specialist knowledge of sport and exercise science. In addition, my work tutoring and teaching have allowed my students to gain admission to universities such as Loughborough, Birmingham and Bath.
KS3 & GCSE: General Science
- As a Teacher of PE and Science, I taught Combined Sciences from Years 7-10 classes ranging from high to low ability. I am currently being mentored by the Head of Science to embed my subject knowledge to create fun and engaging lessons. Alongside classroom teaching, I have helped my students to improve their practical and theoretical knowledge, thus helping students to achieve and exceed their target grades
KS3 & GCSE: Mathematics
- I have homeschooled and tutored students in this subject. In addition, I have helped students to develop and embed their skills in Maths. In addition, my work has helped students prepare for end-of-term and GCSE examinations.

My belief derives from the humanistic approach, where each child should be seen as an individual. Therefore, I tailor my lessons based on my student's needs (visual, verbal, or physical learning) so that the lesson I deliver is best suited to my student.
To promote retrieval, I plan my lessons with the end in mind, and try to break the main objectives of the lesson into chunks. In my lessons, I use retrieval practise tasks like of practice questions, quizzes and creative activities so that students can apply the newly learnt information to promote long term memory retention.
I record data from the retrieval activities so that I can track progress and identify any areas of weakness, and throughout my lessons, I give students the chance to RAG (Red, Amber, Green) rate themselves based on how well they understood the information.
As a dedicated education professional, I strive to support all my clients throughout the year so that I can assist in helping students to achieve and succeed in their academic potential!
