Private Online Maths and Physics Tutor

I am 23 years old and I am currently completing my PhD at the University of Bristol in Biochemistry. I previously completed my Master's degree in Natural Sciences at the University of York, specialising in physics, chemistry and mathematics. I have a deep love for all branches of science and have carried this throughout my degree and into my future academic career. My degree included studying a vast range of physics, chemistry and maths modules which have built on almost all areas from GCSE and A-level in great depth.
I believe tutoring can help provide incredibly valuable insights into a subject, particularly when tailored to the students’ needs and delivered by tutors who have lived through their experiences. I completed my school studies in the UK, achieving 3 A*s at A level and 9 A*s and 2 As at GCSE.

Tutoring Experience

I have been tutoring online GCSE and A level for 2 years. I have also tutored maths in-person to groups of 1st year university undergraduates. I have taught workshops in-person in schools for students ranging from year 7 to 13 for the past 4 years.

Tutoring Approach

I believe in student-centred teaching. My lessons are primarily tailored to the student’s wishes, abilities and needs. Through this I aim to create a relaxed, engaging and inspiring environment to help my students feel supported, confident and comfortable to ask any questions. Earlier in the year I recommend focusing on specific topics which, depending on the student’s preferences, can follow along with their school lessons or be used separately to focus on areas the student struggles with or would like to re-visit. As we approach exam periods, I recommend working through past papers as I believe this is the best way to gain confidence in the exams, the topics and spotting mistakes. Throughout the whole year, the student is free to interject with any specific questions, topics or queries they have, and lessons will be easily adapted.

I recommend teaching via Google Meets where possible, and I can assist in advising the set-up of this.
