I'm a 49-year-old qualified Chartered Accountant associated with an accountancy practice in Leeds.
I've been teaching Financial Accounting, Financial Management and Cost Accounting for more than 15 years with a practical approach. I believe 'one size fits all' is counter-productive when it comes to teaching. One needs to adjust their teaching methodology as per the individual's needs to whom you're teaching.
Not being a university professor, my approach has always been efficient as I teach students from the point of view of a business professional who provides them perspective behind theories and laws. I've been associated with the industry and accounting practices since 1998. Companies/businesses like DuPont and E&Y were my previous employers. It provides me with a wealth of practical knowledge which I try to transfer to my students while teaching them theories and financial / cost accounting calculations. As per my students' feedback, they recall my real-life scenarios when answering questions that deal with similar situations. My students' positive feedback gives me immense satisfaction that I'm able to deliver what is required in a given circumstance.
