Tutoring Experience

I have worked in mainstream schools, in London and the West Midlands for over 30 years . In my teaching career, I have held the position of English coordinator, I have worked in both key stage 1 and 2 and have extensive experience with SATs.
I have considerable experience working with children in Reception and Nursery and SEN.
I use a range of teaching techniques to consistently attain high levels of individual achievement. I have tutored children 1:1 sessions, within all ages groups- in schools and privately.

Tutoring Approach

I create a safe learning environment for self growth which improves self confidence to 'unlock each child's learning potential' to achieve success and OWN THEIR ACCOMPLISHMENTS.
With an encouraging teaching style, I help students to excel by teaching them to build resilience. Not to be afraid of making mistakes and learn to never give up. Within a positive learning environment, children keep having a go to tackle difficulties, with the reassurance that I will guide them through these tough moments.
Using continuous assessment and feedback, I will challenge children when necessary to stretch themselves to greater depth. I mirror the work in school (follow curriculum content) so children gain maximum benefit at school. I set homework for the children and provide progress reports of their learning journey.
