I love teaching. I am a proud, married dad of three. Our family love to spend time outdoors and playing sports. I am a keen cyclist, avid reader, music lover, film enthusiast and football fanatic.
Over the past 12 years, I have taught in a number of primary schools across Lincolnshire. I have knowledge of KS2 Sats and the 11+ papers - having taught mostly in year 5 & 6 - therefore, I can provide preparation tutoring or gap filling. I have also taught year 3 & 4 too. My breadth of knowledge, in all primary school subjects, covers all of KS2 and is up to date with the National Curriculum. I am trained in current safeguarding practices and I have worked with many pupils with additional needs.
I have taught hundreds of pupils since I started teaching. Each and every one of them have been amazing in some way. They've also been completely unique - and therefore fascinating. I believe in building rapport with a pupil, being patient and calm, giving clear instructions, motivating them, instilling passion, having meaningful discussion, looking after their welfare and mental health, guiding them to get where they want to, adapting to their learning style, treating every pupil with respect (and expecting it in return), collaborating, encouraging, praising, asking for more when appropriate, finding out what makes them tick, adapting to their individual needs and, above all, having a good time and building positivity. This approach has resulted in many success stories. Once the understanding and boundaries are there, then the learning can really take off!
