I'm 48 years old and have been teaching for over 24 years.
I tutor Mondays to Thursdays between 5 and 7pm, although can be flexible. I only tutor 2-3 students at a time as I teach full time as well.
I've been teaching Maths in secondary schools since 1999. I teach all abilities across Years 7 to 11. I have taught maths in 3 schools and have been at my present school for over 20 years. My tutoring started by helping my nieces and nephews, then the children of friends and for the last couple of years I have also been tutoring other students as well.
I like tutoring students 1to1 as I feel it gets the most out of the time we have. I vary my approach depending on the ability of the student, favouring more practical approaches to students who need them. I can either assess the student when I meet them, which takes time, or if you give me school assessments I will identify topics to work on from them. I am happy to do focused exam practice, which is what I have mainly been doing recently with the students I tutor to prepare them for their GCSE exams this year.
