Hello! I am a friendly and enthusiastic tutor with a love of teaching.

I have recently completed my undergraduate degree Politics and International Relations BSc at the University of Bristol. I graduated with First Class Honours. I really enjoyed my degree and love sharing extra knowledge with Politics students during lessons.

In my free time, I enjoy volunteering, swimming and going on walks.

Tutoring Experience

With over 750 lessons taught, I have lots of experience tutoring GCSE and A Level students. I have been a tutor for 3 years, specialising in GCSE English (any exam board) and Edexcel A Level Politics

Tutoring Approach

I strive to help students get the best grades they possibly can, as well as boost their confidence in the trickier topics.

I prioritise following exam board advice and using the subject specification. I often use past paper questions with students.

I take a structured and interactive approach to lessons, aiming to create a space where students can ask questions and raise concerns.

Everyone approaches learning differently and I frame sessions with that in mind, working with students to find the subject-specific skills and revision strategies that will help them thrive. I plan lessons for each student individually.

I begin my lesson by recapping the content of the last tutoring session or doing an introduction activity, such as a mindmap about a theme. Next, we move on to the new content. This could include analysing a text, working through practice exam questions, or teaching new concepts.

I often take a discussion-based approach to tutoring, especially for A-level students, which involves me and the student talking together about key ideas within a topic. For example, for A-level Politics students, we often spend time discussing ideas related to a past paper question to form a detailed plan. At the end of the lesson, we will recap the new content, and address any remaining questions that students have. If they wish, I can point students towards further practice they can do in their free time or set homework tasks.
