Hi! I'm Steph, I am in my final year doing chemistry at the University of Oxford. I am based in Derbyshire and having come from a state comprehensive background, I am aware of the value that a good education provides, and would love to share my knowledge with as many students as possible to help them excel in exams and to develop a passion for the subject!

Tutoring Experience

I have had experience in tutoring French A-Level 1-to-1 as well as maths and chemistry to younger GCSE years, I am also my Oxford Colleges' access and outreach rep meaning I have developed my skills in approaching and engaging with students of all ages from primary through to university age. I have also worked in a primary school intermittently since the age of 14 so have experience with younger students also.
I have so far achieved a 100% offer rate from the students I have tutored for Oxbridge admissions, through personal statement workshops and mock interviews.

Tutoring Approach

I think that in order to excel in exams, students should have a passion for the subject and understand the real world implications of the material being taught. I emphasise the need for exam technique and repetition which allows content to be learnt effectively over time which is the key to succeeding in exams. Overall, the emphasis would be put on doing well in assessments and exams whilst also fostering an invaluable interest and passion for the subject.
