I am a 2nd year student at the Imperial College of London, studying Molecular Bioengineering. I come from Hong Kong and Australia, and can speak both English and Mandarin fluently! I have studied the IGCSE and IB curriculum, and my main areas of knowledge are the sciences (physics, chemistry and biology), mathematics, and English (mainly for IGCSE).
I have been teaching in-person and online since June 2021, for subjects including Maths, Sciences and English, levels ranging from middle school, to IGCSE, to IB/A levels. I have taught a total of 6 students, whose ages range from 12 to 18.
I created powerpoint slides to assist my lessons, and make use of softwares such as Miro to create flow diagrams (for English analysis), savemyexams for practice questions (for sciences and maths), and canva (to make revision 'cheatsheets').
My lessons integrate both 'lecture-style' explanation as well as time for us to go through practice problems, where I allow the student to attempt the question then guide them through the solution step-by-step.
If supported by the student, I will assign after-class homework for the student to complete on their own to consolidate their understanding of the lesson content.
