I am a qualified primary school teacher with over 17 years of teaching experience across Key stages 1 and 2. I am currently working as a year 5 teacher in a primary school in Oldham. Additionally, I am recognised for raising attainment of children of all abilities.

Tutoring Experience

I am experienced in planning, teaching and assessing quality lessons. As well as class-based teaching, I have experience of SATs intervention in preparing children for the year 6 exams.

Tutoring Approach

My teaching is tailored to suit the needs of all pupils and the lesson content is according to the National Curriculum coverage; in addition to this, my teaching style is in line with current methodologies and practices used in the classroom. All my lessons begin with a review of prior learning to ensure it embeds in the long term memory. New content is then introduced in small steps to avoid cognitive overload. I use scaffolds and 'I do, we do, you do' approach to ensure the student has mastered the skill. The lesson ends with a low stake quiz and feedback to the student and parents. Follow on work is always provided to be completed by the student for the next lesson.
