I am a Psychology Graduate from Westminster University. I have qualified in a postgraduate in primary teaching from Brunel University. I currently work as a teacher with a year 6 class but have experience in all year groups from reception to Year 6. As my three children are growing up, I know I have the time and ability to pursue what I enjoy; I am an enthusiastic, patient and a supportive person who enjoys helping children reach their maximum potential. I encourage children to reach their goals and help them build on their self-esteem and confidence within the required area of development.
I am a fully qualified primary teacher with QTS. I am currently working across a primary school teaching years 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. I have a vast amount of knowledge and experience in the preparation of SATs. Due to my 13 years of teaching experience I have a strong understanding of progression from year to year and have a very good understanding of the national curriculum. I am also the school's Science coordinator, which requires me to be familiar with all ages and stages throughout school to ensure the science curriculum is delivered to its best ability.
I am not at the stage of my career where I train other trainee teachers the skills of teaching.
I have previously worked with ages 5 - 11 yrs at after school clubs. This was through a charity which supported children with low self esteem and confidence.
I currently tutor 3 children and these clients have remained loyal to me for a while now.
I would like to speak to the tutee or parent over the phone and gain a clear understanding of the area he/she needs support and assess their current ability and level of the specific subject area. Together we will create targets to work towards and successfully achieve. From this I will plan lessons that will keep the tutee engaged, confident and enthusiastic, as I feel this is what an effective lesson should involve. I also have an in-depth knowledge of the national curriculum and the primary strategy and use this to inform my planning and help the tutee move forward to the next level.
I believe regular feedback is the key to success and positive attitude towards a task is the best way to conquer anything.
AIM: SUCCESS and progression and growth mindset!
