I am an enthusiastic and motivational educator. As a qualified, experienced middle leader, my subject knowledge is exceptional. I have taught English Literature and Language in five schools and always ensure that learning is made enjoyable to ensure academic success. I am also dedicated to motivating pupils and aim to make each session exciting and challenging.
I studied at the Green School for Girls in Isleworth for my GCSE'S where I received A* A B in Sociology, English and History at Advanced Level. I also studied and qualified for the Extended Project Qualification.
At GCSE I received A* A* A*A*A*A*A*AB. I have a BA (Hons) in English Literature and Language from King's College London and the University of North Carolina. I also have a PGCE in Secondary English from Canterbury Christ Church University and a Masters in Leadership and Management from UCL.
I also have a TEFL qualification (160 hours) to teach English as a foreign language. I am a TeachFirst Ambassador.
I have a unique teaching approach, which involves making lessons fun and engaging. I believe you should want to learn, because I make you want to learn.
I began my teaching career early at university at St Micheal's College in London as a GCSE tutor in 2013. I then graduated and worked as an Early Years teacher in Madrid and joined Teach First in 2014 where I qualified as a full-time Secondary English Teacher at Wembley High Technology College, London. I later moved to Barcelona, where I taught GCSE English and then returned to London as Deputy Head of English at Ark Burlington Danes Academy.
My approach is to listen to the student and understand their needs before planning my lessons. It is vital that the student does not feel overwhelmed, but comfortable and confident to succeed at their pace. I will ensure that they have all the knowledge and assistance to reach their targets and facilitate their learning to make them independent learners.
I have exceptional subject knowledge and have an excellent success rate with all of my pupils. I have been an AQA examiner and graded and moderated a plethora of exam papers.
I also aim to make lessons fun and related to the outside world, to give them some context of their learning. I will also provide resources, worksheets and extra tasks to challenge them. Having been through all of these exams myself, I can best empathise with the student and tell them exactly what they need to know to get those A*s. Teaching and learning should be enjoyable, not just for the grades.
