I am a young and enthusiastic teacher and tutor! Having always had a passion for Maths, I began tutoring a couple of family members in my spare time a few years ago. Having gained a real satisfaction from the improved results it gave them, I pursued a career as teacher in 2012. I have a passion for Maths, Statistics and numbers as well as running, cycling, music and various sports.
After obtaining my degree and working as an accountant for 3-4 years, I returned to University and obtained my PGCE in Mathematics, I have worked as a Teacher of Maths at a comprehensive school in Fleetwood since 2013, and have gained excellent results with the vast majority of my classes. I now hold a variety of extra responsibilities at my school, including working closely with other schools with regards to the new, more challenging 9-1 GCSE Specification in Maths.
I always endeavour to make learning maths both engaging and interesting. I try to relate things to real life situations where possible, and give the student a feel for how maths is relevant to real world situations. I have a relaxed yet studious approach to the subject, and recognise the importance of students mastering topics as opposed to learning superficially in order to pass exams. I recognise that all students learn in different ways, and tailor my approach to suit the learning style of the individual.
