Hi, I’m Shakiba! I’m a 4th-year Biochemical Engineering student at UCL, working toward my integrated master’s degree.
I’m passionate about science (and Excel spreadsheets!). Whether it’s biology, chemistry, or the intricacies of bioprocess engineering, I’m all about making complex topics easy to understand (maybe even a little fun)
Tutoring lets me share my excitement for these subjects with students, using real-world examples to help them discover how fascinating learning can be, all while ensuring relevant and necessary content is covered.

My typical tutoring approach:
1. Initial Session:
- I begin by identifying the student’s current level, gaps in understanding, and confidence with the material.
- After this, I create a personalised plan based on the student’s needs + subject specifications.
2. Regular Sessions:
- Content is covered using visual aids and drawings to simplify complex ideas.
- A tailored checklist for each topic is provided to ensure all content is thoroughly covered.
- I include exam questions + mini quizzes to review and asses understanding and confidence.
3. After Sessions:
- iPad notes + lesson resources are shared with the student (and homework, if needed!).
- Feedback is shared with parents to keep them informed and ensure everyone is on the same page regarding progress.
Each student is different, and sessions naturally adapt to suit student needs.
