With over thirty years experience I am still a young enthusiastic teacher. I have led teams of teachers to improve standards across many subjects and I have children of my own so I understand the demands on young people today.
I am a highly experienced History teacher and former Head of Department, specialising in A level History (WJEC, Edexcel, AQA) and GCSE History. With over 20 years’ success, I have helped students secure A/A* grades and places at Oxbridge and Russell Group universities. I have co-authored a History textbook, developed resources for BBC Bitesize, and worked with exam boards and Welsh Government. My lessons focus on exam technique, clear essay writing, and tailored feedback that builds confidence and delivers results.
I believe learning achieving at learning is addictive. Breaking tasks into bitesize chunks with consistent focus on success criteria can hook pupils in, constant feedback that allows them to develop is also essential.
