I am a qualified teacher with extensive experience in primary and secondary schools, both in Australia and the UK. I'm a hard working and friendly person who enjoys helping young people achieve success in a range of different areas. My interests include sports, being active, reading and travelling.

Tutoring Experience

I worked as a classroom teacher in a primary school in Tasmania, Australia for 2 years prior to arriving in the UK. Since then I have worked in a wide range of primary & secondary schools as a supply teacher, been a regular class teacher on a year 4 class and more recently worked as a tutor for older students with disabilities. Prior to becoming a teacher I worked for 4 years as a teaching assistant where I would be tasked with working one-on-one with students that were struggling.

Tutoring Approach

My approach is to ensure that a positive and meaningful relationship is developed between student and tutor/teacher. This is key as it will lay the foundation for a positive learning experience. I also aim to make learning as fun and as engaging as possible for the student by incorporating plenty of learning games and also integrating their interests into tasks where possible. Regular brain breaks to keep motivation and focus at a strong level. Having high standards around work quality and effort are important to me as well, and establishing these early on is also key.
