I was given my first guitar when I was 5 and started learning to play by ear. I started having guitar lessons in primary school. I focused on music throughout comprehensive school and went on to achieve a BTEC National Diploma in Music Practice in college. Since then I’ve taught myself to play to a high level on guitar, bass guitar and drums. I’m now learning piano!
I have been a professional performing musician for 10+ years. I am an active session musician and performer in several bands in Bristol and South Wales, playing in venues such as, Exchange, The Fleece and O2. I also write and produce my own music, doing the arrangements for all of the band parts including bass, drums, guitar and vocals.
I specialise in finding what is unique in you and bringing that to your musicianship. I like to help people learn their own way especially if conventional grades, sight-reading and exams have alienated them. I specialise in teaching improvising, song-writing and technique for children and adults. I can also teach you to play by ear or use tabs from a beginner level to a professional.
