I am a graduate from the University of Birmingham Medical School and now a part-time doctor in the NHS. I love football, table tennis and swimming as they help me focus and have helped me work through my studies. I obtained my GCSEs and achieved 9 A*s and one A. I then went onto study the International Baccalaureate diploma (Maths, Chemistry, Biology, English, Economics, Italian).
I am always keen to help and feel my greatest strengths lie in motivating students to maximise their potential and help them understand how they can succeed independently in the world of work. The satisfaction I gain from teaching is something I love intensely.
I have dedicated over 10 years to teaching students in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths and helping individuals succeed in their applications to various universities. I am up-to-date with the ongoing changes in curriculum and have covered GCSE level, A-level and IB level material. I have taught students with learning difficulties, challenging behaviours and have gained experience in the need to adjust teaching styles to each individual. My greatest satisfaction has been following students from GCSE level and watching them develop into mature young adults ready to embrace the challenge of university life.
My approach to tutoring is generally tailored to each individual student. Most students are inclined to learning using various visual, auditory, kinaesthetic methods of teaching and I adopt this approach in my lessons as much as possible. I enjoy keeping lessons interactive and closely gauge the attention levels of students so not to overbear them and hinder their learning. My general approach centres around identifying key areas of difficulty, areas of misunderstanding, consolidation through questions and preparation for exams using a holistic approach. This means tackling all aspects of the student's development including sleeping habits, food intake, exercise routines to help maximise one's chances of success.
